“We initially went with Sound Originals out of cost consideration and ease of booking because their combined photo/video package seemed so much more cost effective than many of the quotes we were getting from individual photographers and videographers. We assumed therefore that the quality might be a bit diminished by comparison, but were quite pleasantly surprised to discover that this was not the case! We are beyond pleased with the coverage they provided of our wedding and reception, and would certainly recommend Sound Originals to anyone seeking photo/video of their big day. Our team on the day of the wedding were absolute rock stars. Kate, Trung, and Travis all were incredibly friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond in ensuring we had excellent photos and video--both candids and plandids. We're so grateful to each of them for their excellent work! If you're considering booking Sound Originals, there is one practical consideration we might offer, however: Their business model seems streamlined to provide a standardized product and level of quality to many clients at once by contracting with local photographers and videographers--this is great for ensuring that clients know what to expect visually and that the company has backup photographers ready in case any members of the assigned team can't make it, but this also seems to come at the cost of personal touch when communicating with the company and the photo/video team. Our communications with them were always through a portal on their website and often felt rather impersonal. This was a trade off we were perfectly fine with, given the very affordable price we paid for our package and the piece of mind in knowing that even if our lead photographer got sick or something, someone else would be there to fill in. If you, however, require a high level of customization or personal touch and want to cultivate a close relationship with your photographer, then you may want to hire a photographer/team directly.”

Chris Funkhouser (who seriously brought the funk!) was amazing to work with! During our consultations he was able to answer all our questions and concerns. He was able to put his swing on things from his experience to help provide the right vibes we were looking for. We pretty much already knew all the songs that we wanted to play so the program they used was perfect! It was detailed in the timing of the night, how long or short to play songs and any other special requests we wanted to have. On the night of the wedding, Chris was a blast -energetic, observant, and focused on keeping the dance floor alive all night long. He even joined us out there, helping to keep the party going strong! He was able to use his best judgement in placing some of the lighting and monogram details we chose which turned out great! “We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”

“JJ did such a fantastic job at our wedding this June! 3 things really stood out about him! 1) Attentive JJ Really paid attention to what I wanted our wedding day and reception to look like. Everything went so smoothly on the day of because he had really paid attention and gone over every detail of the timeline I had typed up. He was so fun and energetic and really got the party going! He customized our playlist too so that all my favorite songs got played at the wedding. 2) Professional Even though he is definitely fun and outgoing, he was very professional in all his text messages and emails and phone calls. He is very personable and friendly, but sticks to what needs to be accomplished. I really appreciated that. 3) Available JJ gave me his cell phone number and email address. He responded to texts within minutes and was very prompt in answering my questions. The planning process was very organized— lots of thoughtful communication on what pictures we wanted, moments to be sure to capture, etc. The entire day ran smoothly, and we were very happy with the shots the photographer and videographer were taking (all the fun getting-ready pics, first look, etc). Each member of the team goes the extra mile for their clients. Other than TAA, I couldn't imagine planning this wedding with anyone else! We had to reschedule our March wedding due to the pandemic. They helped us find a company that could do our November wedding outdoors in a safe area. The food at weddings is one of the best parts (in my opinion). TAA created the perfect menu for our wedding because we love weddings for this reason. We got rave reviews for days after our party. “My daughter recently got married in Newport, Rhode Island, on September 14th, 2024. She choose to have her reception in a tent on the lawn of the Eisenhower House. The venue was stunning and the woman at EH recommended Clockwork as we were looking for a local band with horns to play at the reception. We were not able to hear them in person, but all the video's posted online more than helped our decision making process and we quickly booked the band 20 months in advance, It was our second decision in the wedding process after the venue -with many, many more to come, but without a doubt - IT WAS THE BEST DECISION!!!! Booking was easy - we sent a check to reserve the date. the catalog of music they are capable of playing is extensive. But we had a tremendous comfort level with Clockwork New England as the contract states YOU GET THE EXACT MUSICIANS you see on all the website videos. There are no switches, or long lists of band members they slot in on any given day. Everyone we saw and loved are the people that showed up for our event. From start to finish - the band rocked the night away - the dance floor was never empty. They sang the bride and grooms song 'You are the Best Thing" and it was spectacular. And every song after that just got us up off our feet. The horns added so much - we keep hearing from friends asking us who they were, because they LOVED the music. The interactions with the crowd also made the night so memorable - and some of the best videos of the night. The band worked well together - and we just cannot say enough about how much they added to the party. Patrick joined a zoom call we had w our planner a week or so earlier than the event - and went over every detail - completely putting our minds at ease. 5 stars are NOT ENOUGH!! They truly made our event the best it could have possibly been! I want to do it again!”

In hindsight, we are so glad we opted for the full-service package because doing so saved us so much time and stress. There is still so much you have to do and deal with during wedding planning so it was great to know that we had a team behind us taking care of things and keeping us on track. Blaire was our main planner, and we also worked with Hannah and Sharon along the way. All 3 ladies are so kind, knowledgeable, and overall just a pleasure to work with! With the full-service package, the team connected us with the most amazing vendors at varying price levels, which we appreciated. This saved us SO much time of having to do our own research. We also really appreciated the honest advice they gave us in terms of where to spend vs. where to save. This is the kind of insight that we would've never had on our own and was so valuable to receive from an experienced wedding planner. There were also a few times where Blaire stepped in and advocated on our behalf with some of our vendors which resulted in less stress for us and more money saved. They also worked with us to execute the vision we had in terms of design and aesthetics. Even though we had a few changes of heart with some design elements along the way, the team didn't flinch and gladly adjusted things for us. Joyfully also offers their own rental items (discount included with the full-service package), and renting most of our decor items through them also saved us a lot of time and money (can you sense a theme here?!). Fast forward to our wedding day, everything looked so beautiful and the evening went so smoothly. It was truly the happiest day of our lives! We had always heard horror stories of things going wrong on your wedding day, but for us, none of that happened & if it did, we didn't even know because Blaire and her team took care of it for us. They took the time to really listen to what I was looking for and made sure everything was perfect. I felt so comfortable with them, and they made the trial fun and relaxing. On the wedding day, we decided to add Natalia to the team after discussing with the owner, and it turned out to be the best decision. Having an additional stylist really helped speed up the process, and everything ran so smoothly as a result. They brought everything they needed, including lighting, and set up in no time. They were punctual, organized, and ready to get started as soon as we arrived at the venue. Throughout the morning, Eva, Maria, and Natalia were a joy to be around. They kept the whole group on time without making it feel rushed, which was such a relief with all the wedding-day chaos. They were also fun to talk to and kept the mood light, which made the getting-ready process so enjoyable. I had a bit of a rash on my shoulder that day, and I was really concerned about it. They were quick to respond, always friendly and accommodating, and remained professional and patient — even when unexpected weather challenges came up on the day of the wedding.
